It is not necessary to hire a consultant for your immigration process however it is advised to do so in order to avoid small mistakes that can get you refused. Also, it saves you a lot of time and you get to know your chances very quickly. Government of Canada insists you only work with Authorized representatives if you are paying for consulting, and if you decide to seek professional assistance

You can get a work permit for Canada if you have a job offer from a Canadian employer. The employer needs to get an LMIA approval before you can use the offer to apply for work permit. It is not legal in Canada for employers or recruiters to ask money from employees or candidates. Not even the processing/file charges. If someone is asking you for money, there is a high probability of it being a scam.

Official ICCRC has a membership list of all RCIC’s. You can search for your agent by his name and see if they are listed. If not, you should not pay them for consultation services as they are not authorized representatives.

All provincial programs have different requirements. While most programs require support of a local employer or a community, there are few that do not. OINP is one such program. Contact us for your options if you are in this situation.

If the relative is a sibling, they will give you 15 extra points in CRS. If you have other relatives in Canada, it might or might not help your case, depending on the province where they live in. RCIC’s, Canadian Lawyers, and Quebec notaries are the only authorized paid representatives. Hence if you are not currently in Canada, the only applicable representatives are RCIC’s. In more than 99% cases, the local agents are not RCIC’s. An online website showing affiliation to any RCIC might not be true, make sure you deal directly with RCIC, not with a staff member for consultations. To verify if the person claiming to be an RCIC is indeed one, go to the official ICCRC website and look for RCIC membership list.

In most cases it is not possible to get a PR within 6 months. Working towards the prerequisites alone takes months. Also, an RCIC never guarantees any outcome or timeline. It should be clearly understood that no one can influence approval or processing timelines, and there is no special treatment to any file.
