Immigration Streams:
There are 4 major immigration streams under Express Entry Canada system. These streams collectively account for major part of the Economic Immigration pillar in Canada. Brief description of these immigration streams:
- Federal Skilled Worker (FSW): This program is for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently. There are six selection factors used to assess candidates. Minimum score required to qualify is 67 out of 100. More information about these factors can be found here. If you get 67 points or more, you will be allowed to make an Express Entry profile under FSW class. Further steps are described later on this page.
- Federal Skilled Trades Worker (FSTW): To be eligible to Immigrate to Canada under this category, you need to have experience in one of the required NOC groups. More details around eligibility for this Immigration stream can be found on this page.
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC): If you have minimum 1-year Canadian work experience, you may be eligible to apply under this stream for Permanent Residence in Canada. General guidelines can be found here, or contact us directly for thorough assessment.
- Provincial Nominee Programs: If you are a skilled worker and unable to get high enough scores to meet cut off in Express Entry draws, you should be looking into provincial programs. Most provinces have agreements with Federal government to design their own immigration programs and meet province specific needs. For example, one province might have high demand of bakers while some other province may be facing shortage of truck drivers. If you are looking to immigrate to Canada under one of the provincial programs, contact us to identify suitable options. Let’s start working to bring you & your family to Canada!
How does Express Entry work?
- Gather documents such as IELTS General, ECA, etc
Although the list is long, the absolute basic information you would need to complete an Express Entry profile relies on IELTS, ECA, Passport and Certificates. - Make a candidate profile in Express Entry
- If you meet cut-off for an Express Entry draw, you will receive Invitation to apply
The invitation is received as a message in your Express Entry profile. At this stage, if you’re not already working with an RCIC directly, book an urgent consultation with us. A small mistake or omission at this point will significantly impact your immigration chances - Once you receive ITA, you will get 60 days to submit a complete application and pay relevant fees
There are a lot more documents required at this stage of your Express Entry PR application, such as PCC, Employment letters, Proof of Funds, etc. - IRCC will process your application and notify for any additional steps such as biometrics, medicals, etc.
IRCC does not request missing documents if the application is deemed incomplete. Hence, it is imperative to work with a qualified and regulated immigration consultant. - Once application is processed, the candidate receives decision and further instructions in their Express Entry profile
Further instructions might include interview call, procedural fairness letter, or a passport request.
