Sponsor your spouse or dependent children
Canadian Citizens and Permanent residents are allowed to sponsor their spouse & dependent children to Canada, if they
- Are at least 18 years old
- Haven’t received any social assistance other than disability allowance
- Can provide for the basic needs to persons they want to sponsor, and sign an undertaking on the same. This would mean any social assistance the sponsored members take would have to be repaid by the sponsor
There isn’t any specific income requirement to sponsor your spouse or dependent children to Canada. The maximum age of a dependent child is 22 years on the day application is submitted to IRCC. There is however an exception to this age in case of a physical or mental disability and if the child has been financially dependent on parents in the past years.
